Carl Mattone has more than three decades of experience in real estate development and property management and is recognized as a top business leader in the Queens community. As President of the Mattone Group LLC, a Queens based development and construction company, Mr. Mattone oversees all project development, retail leasing, and construction coordination.  The Mattone Group is a member of the Queens Chamber of Commerce and currently manages over 1.5 million square feet of property in New York, Florida, and Georgia.

In 2010, the Queens Courier honored Carl F. Mattone at the annual “Kings of Queens” awards, which recognize the top men and women in business. In 2013 The New York Grand Lodge Foundation and Order Sons of Italy in America honored Mr. Mattone for his civic and philanthropic endeavors, and the Jefferson Democratic Club of Northeast Queens honored him as “Business Leader of the Year”.

Carl Mattone has guided the Mattone Group through multiple projects including the landmark 400,000 sq. ft. Jamaica Center Site 1, which represents the largest private investment in Jamaica, Queens in 39 years. With Jamaica’s kaleidoscope of cultures, it has over 300 stores in New York City’s largest urban fashion district.  Jamaica Center Site 1 has a 15-screen movie complex, retail shops, office space and a 375-car parking garage. Mr. Mattone also led the development of 110 luxury homes in Whitestone, N.Y. among many other various real estate investments.

On behalf of the Mattone Group, Carl Mattone is a member of the NY Developers, a group that is affiliated with the top fifteen retail real estate development and investment firms in the New York metropolitan area.  He is also a member of the Queens County Builders and Contractors Association, where he served on the Board of Directors from 1986 to 1987.

Mr. Mattone serves as a Battery Park City Authority Board Member, appointed by Hon. Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo in 2012. Mr. Mattone also serves on the Board of Directors for his alma mater Holy Cross High School since 2012.

Prior to joining the Mattone Group, Mr. Mattone established his own maintenance and contracting business in 1981. He served as the construction supervisor on numerous development projects in Brooklyn and Queens. In 1985, he became the Vice President of Project Development of the Mattone Group Ltd., where he was in charge of evaluating the potential of all development projects and directing their construction. In 1990, Carl Mattone became the Chief Operating Officer of the Mattone Group, taking charge of both development and management of the company.

As part of its mission, the Mattone Group acknowledges that the commercial real estate market is constantly changing and that an ability to keep abreast of these changes is key to successful property development and management.  Because of this, the company is committed to creating value by coordinating the economic development process and utilizing the best resources in both the public and private sectors.  The Mattone Group is concentrating on asset acquisition within the New York metropolitan area, as well as expanding acquisitions by diversifying equity into office, retail, residential, and industrial assets.
